there are far, far better things ahead than we leave behind - c.s. lewis

Time to blog...
Let's see this is my picture for friday...

Now i will admit, this picture was not taken on friday, but minus the beautiful trees that's what my world looked like the end of last week, we've been hit with these freak snow storms leaving feets of snow everywhere. no bueno.

Saturday consisted on working on my science lesson plan with my friend in class, it took for-freaking-ever. I kid you not. We started at 10:30 Saturday morning and didn't finish until around six on saturday night. I've never committed that much of my time to anything. well i have, but nothing science related. not fun. never again. (well until i'm a teacher i guess)

Sunday:
How cute is this face! I want to bring him home with me! But i don't think that he would be welcome in my apartment, but honestly how adorable is he?

His name is Rigby and I'm in love.
I go to my aunt's house for dinner basically every week, not always but for the most part. I love my aunt and uncle, they are the best people. It was aunt's birthday and so we were having a big birthday dinner, everyone was there. all my utah aunts and uncles and cousins. it was so fun! Well when i walked into the door this guy came running up to say hello. This is the great thing about aunt, remember when you were five and you brought an animal of some kind home and you asked if you could keep it and your mom said no? well, she's the mom who not only says yes, she's the mom who brings them home. She found this guy and his brothers and sisters running down the street. She tracked down their irresponsible idiot of an owner who didn't care about them at all and informed them she was keeping one. Enter Rigbey. Too cute right. I love it. I'm worried i might become that kind of mom too, i'll want to keep everything, but i won't want to take care of them...hmm....have to work on that one.

if i were five....

I'd eat chicken nuggets every day.
If you were to live at my apartment you would be treated to a home cooked meal almost every day of the week. As roomies we switch off cooking for each other, so basically you cook once a week for two weeks and then have the next week off. And you get meals all the days in between. Not a bad deal right? Tonight was my night for dinner and tonight's meal consisted of chicken nuggets, fries, and fruit. Now this was not your ordinary McDonalds chicken nuggets, these were legit, and required A LOT more than I thought, but they were delicious. I found the recipe here
The cook time was nice too! So enjoy and pretend like you're five again. I reccommend it, it's good for the soul.

Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today's picture basically sums up my life this last semester. Yes that is my nice comfortable bed, and yes, as usual, it is covered with all of my homework and stuff that needs to get done (though today's load was a lot lighter than normal). It's amazing that I haven't had a complete breakdown yet....well I had one, but that involved class sign ups not current classes.
Remember kids, stay in school, no matter how difficult it may seem.

ps: I got a 93.5% on my art history midterm I was convinced I was going to fail, nice right?

24...the gym not the show.

Confession: Getting me to the gym is like giving a cat a bath, it may need it, but its gonna take A LOT of effort to get it done.

I love the after gym high of working out but I can never seem to get my butt in the car and on the machine. It's horrible. I'll never look the way I want at this rate, but hey a day at a time right? Someday I will have the body of my dreams...maybe if I can switch my addiction to Hershey's hugs to an addiction to the tredmill...I'll let you know how that goes.

There is one upside to when I go to the gym and that would be my beautiful best friend A. She works at the gym and whenever I actually do get my backside to the gym I get to see her beautiful face. I love her. We've been friends for I don't even know how long and have been through almost everything together or apart. I haven't seen her as much lately cause of school and work but whenever we do get together nothing has changed and I love it. Friends like that are priceless. Seriously. You can always count on them. I have been blessed with a few of those. Why am I so lucky?

Love you beautiful.

Get ready

So not only have a finally caught up on all my blogging I have a renewed desire to blog, so...I'm stealing an idea I saw on another blog. A picture a day for the year. we'll see how long i last, but hopefully i'll succeed. below are today's pics!

Park City!

So...this weekend was our annual Park City trip with the roommates. We realized we take no pictures, so I pulled out the camera to document our adventure. The drive up was very snowy. I have this phobia of driving in the car sometimes after a couple bad accidents freshman year, neither of which were my fault, but they were not too far apart so I can still get a little jumpy in the car, but we were ok.
Saturday: After we made it into Park City and into B's uncle's condo we decided to head into town and grab a bite to eat. After that it was outlet shopping = the best! I got two cute shirts and a lovely scarf. We then headed home and watched a movie, a classic if I do say,

Sunday:
Sunday consisted of church, and playing the same game most of the day...

If you don't have it, go get it. It's my new obsession, courtesy of Justin who was kind enough to purchase it for me while we were at the mall.
Later that night we watched another of my favorite movies. I know I say that a lot but this time it's true, it's a fav, and everyone should watch it. I want a boy that will love me that much.

Monday:
Today was so much fun, because there was SOOO much snow we had to go and play in it! B's mom came up and took us out to one of her favorite spots and we were off. H, K, and T all were able to go cross country ski with B's mom. B and I on the other hand tackled a mountain, well more like a hill, but it was very steep and the snow was so fresh we all kept falling waist deep in snow with every step so it was quite the workout, with two intertubes and a lot of time.

Before our adventure looking good:

There may have been a few snow fights...

A great weekend and escape from life. Now, time for more school!

New Year

New year means new semester and back in Provo Utah for another semester at the Y.
I cannot believe how fast this semester is flying by. It is February 21st and I cannot tell you where the last few months have gone. I have been a very busy girl. Mostly where school is concerned. I'm in my last official semester in the Elementary Education program and later this semester I will interview for an internship for next year! I cannot believe it. My days consist of learning how to teach little people and doing homework. I have wonderful friends, amazing roommates. I am so blessed.

Courtney Got Married!

So, yesterday was quite the day. My friend Courtney Van Blerkom, who I've been close to all through high school and since, got MARRIED! It's still so crazy to me. She married a nice boy named Christopher in the Oakland temple and I was one of her bridemaids. It was so fun to get dressed up, hold a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and watch as one of my close friends came out of the temple sealed to the man of her dreams for time and all eternity. I'm so happy for her. She deserves all the happiness this world has to offer. Her mother passed away from a three year battle with cancer at thanksgiving of this year, so it was wonderful to see this family finally have some happiness in their lives again. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, she was stunning, and I know that they were just meant to be.

It so weird watching my friends all get married. Earlier this week (12/18/10) my other good friend Melanie Andersen got married. She also looked beautiful and glowed with happiness. Watching everyone go to the temple and be sealed to their husbands just strengthens my resolve and desire. All I want is to find a man who I adore, fall in love with him, have him get down on one knee and tell me he wants to be with me forever, and then go to the Oakland temple with my family and be sealed for time and all eternity. I don't think it gets much better than that.

Family

I told you we took family photos
First time in three years!
What can I say, we're pretty cute.
Sorry there's a lot....these were my favorites

Christmas 2010

I spent two and a half weeks at home just recuperating. I was able to relax and recharge with my favorite people in the whole world. I’ll just go through some of the major events from break. Obviously there were two marriages; both my friends Melanie and Courtney were sealed for time and all eternity to the men of their dreams. Christmas was grand. My major gift was a guitar, and I’ve been addicted to playing it ever since. I’m so excited to continue to learn and develop; I just hope my roommates don’t mind! My favorite gift I gave was the picture I drew for my mother. I drew her a picture of Mary kissing the face of baby Jesus. I was so proud of it and her tears when she saw it were well worth it. I rang in 2011 with my siblings and spent all yesterday playing the Wii with my family. All in all I nice, uneventful, but enjoyable break. Although, I do feel like a visitor at home, it’s weird. I’m starting to see this change that everyone always talks about. Where suddenly you become a guest in your own house. It doesn’t change how much I love being there and hate leaving, but I’m starting to understand more and more. Other fun things I forgot to mention. We finally took new family photos, they are amazing! I love them. I need to upload the CD to my computer and print some out. I also saw the animated movie Tangled, so cute! New favorite by far. And I got to babysit my little girls from the summer. Love them.
